"Hang Your Hat" Campaign

The PSAC Yukon Regional Youth Committee (YRYC) sponsored "Hang Your Hat" as their way of taking action against poverty and homelessness in the Yukon during Anti-Poverty and Homelessness Action week, October 15-21, 2007.

In total the Yukon Regional Youth Committee received:

  • 216 toques;
  • 176 pairs of gloves/mittens;
  • 31 scarves;
  • 12 jackets; and
  • 3 pairs of boots. 

 The YRYC was able to make considerable donations to seven organizations (both First Nation and non-government) in 5 different Yukon communities, including:

PSAC Regional Youth Committee

The Yukon Regional Youth Committee is made up of members, aged 30 and under, that belong to the Public Service Alliance of Canada

Our current goals and mandate are to ensure that young members have their interests represented at the bargaining table, have appropriate representation during times of grievance, amongst other activities that we're involved with, such as fund raising and giving back to our communities, social justice/activism (debates, rallies and other political action relating to issues that affect or are important to our demographic), networking, and union education.  We
